Dear Residents of Wilmot,

Panther Pride is evident among our students, staff and community. Our one building campus serves the communities of Wilmot, Trevor, Randall, Silver Lake, Twin Lakes, as well as portions of Salem and Wheatland. A lot happens within this single building offering endless opportunities from academics, to athletics to automotive repair.

That said, the district’s expenditures are increasing and revenues are decreasing. Just like everyone else, inflation impacts school district budgets. We have been forced to put off routine and preventative maintenance which is no longer sustainable. We also cut 22 positions last spring and would like to hire some of them back to better support our students.

Wilmot Union High School Board of Education has a three-year, non-recurring operational referendum on the February, 2024, ballot. The request is for $2,000,000 in 2024-25, $2,500,000 in 2025-26, and $3,000,000 in 2026-27.

If approved, the funds will be used to hire back some of the positions that were cut after the failed April, 2023 referendum, complete deferred maintenance projects, provide updates to security, and begin to build the fund balance so we can afford routine maintenance in the future.
